Frequently Asked Questions
How does in-browser video compression work?
We use WebAssembly-compiled FFmpeg. Your device CPU executes the video re-encoding locally without uploading gigabytes of video over the web.
Why does video compression take longer than image compression?
Video files contain thousands of individual frames that must be decoded, scaled, and re-encoded. For best performance, use moderate clip lengths (under ~2 minutes on free tier).
What if I navigate away from the tab during compression?
Because compression runs locally in browser memory, closing the tab terminates the process. Please keep the tab open until finished.
